... for each and every day we are able to look out the window and see the beauty of the turning leaves, or the waves of a beautiful lake or smell the freshness of a morning breeze. For you, in your part of the world, it might be gratitude for an act of kindness on the part of a neighbour who waves hello, or for the person at the grocery store who let you in the line-up before them, because you only had 2 items. When I was in Theological College, I was given a book called Radical Gratitude. The message of the book was - often we are looking for the "aha" moments to be grateful for, rather than things like "I'm so happy my clothes came out of the washer so clean - thank you!" I learned from that book to say "thank you" out loud each time I turn off music and thank you each time I open my closet door to get dressed. How about "thank you" after you brush your teeth! Radical isn't it! Well, this is what my Thanksgiving will be directed to this year. Simplicity and the obvious...taking all those little things and beginning to say thank you ... "thank you" to the fridge and "thank you" to the can opener. Thank you is a revolving door. They travel round and round and come back to you...even if it is to the coffee pot! This I trust! So let me start here by saying "thank you" for visiting my blog today! Happy "thank you" day... SQUISHY HUGS.
