HOW CAN I TELL?
BECAUSE MY SON IS GOING IN THE DIRECTION OF HIS DREAMS...
Well, first there was the request to go purchase "bright" colored clothes, when my child previously ONLY liked grey, black, white and blue. There is this sudden "Uhuh" looming around the house. It is as if it is coming from a little...
birdie, or from my two labs, or the newly purchased kittens - Louis and Ricky. But, fear not, it is coming from my newly entered High School Child.
birdie, or from my two labs, or the newly purchased kittens - Louis and Ricky. But, fear not, it is coming from my newly entered High School Child.
Last night, the pot came out of the drawer, the Mac and Cheese out of the cupboard and a sweet but simple "I think I'll have Mac and Cheese for dinner." Huh? From a child who asked me previously, daily, "may I please have a glass of chocolate milk mom."
And this morning at breakfast, to my COMPLETE delight (truly) I heard the quiet but sincerely serious words "I am seriously considering becoming a veggie!" Now, let me explain. I was a veggie from the time I was 12 to 34. Now, I eat 95% veggie and ONLY eat meat when I made my little one a certain type of meat. But HE - he had to have meat each and every night. I said: "Pardon me" as if I hadn't heard correctly - my ears blissfully dancing - "I don't feel it is fair to eat the meat of animals."
YES! I roared. Now my son joins the troops of his older brother (who was raised Veggie) and his sister (who was also raised a Veggie.) They each had their experiment with carnivorism, as did I but they returned to Veggies. Now, I said to my little one - oh sorry - my High School son - "you will have to take on the forbidden food vegatables." In perspective, this child has eaten a handful of veggies since he was born...and is still alive...and 6'1", by the grace of God only. So we talked about raw veggie life, cooked veggie life, but moreso about a visit to the pharmacy to get him a good vitamin B complex and a good Iron supplement. He is stoked.
I wonder what today's HIGH SCHOOL revelation will be?
One of my fav cards out of the 100 I made, on my Sabbatical from my Blog this summer, in order to have a large package of all the cards ready to send to FROMOURHEARTS to distribute to the troops around the world.
I LOVE these itzi bitzi tags...and they really are microscopic, as are the stamps
NOT what my HIGH SCHOOLER is doing (hopefully! haha)
But he does have 2 hours of homework a night!
