ONE STITCH AT A TIME

When I picked this Digi, I initially had in my mind to write "Cougar Alert", when I saw this older girl and young little fellow, as my theme and as my sentiment title.

Unfortunately I didn't see this poor little gaffer in the right side of the digi, so sad and crying! Then I read that the artist, Reeces Paper Pieces named the digi "I'm Too Old For You". I felt so sorry for him and missed the whole meaning of the image.

It brought me back to grade school - to those days of pinning paper bags on your desks and people going around the classroom, row by row, and dropping Valentine's into the paper bags for the people they had Valentines for, and how painful the "waiting and seeing" was in that event.  Would you get one, would people just walk by your desk, would your favourite person give you one, did you give all the people one who didn't give you one back?

You can see by my concerns how insecure I was.  I have always wondered - "was it the system that bred that?" exercises such as this - "or was that where I was at."

Suffice to say that today, there are no paper bags taped on youngin's desks on LOVE DAY. In a THEME For The Women, I wholly did not expect to be taken back to this memory!  But I guess in this Digital Image, you were the Person on the left or the Person on the right.  I think I was both - just in different grades, at different times.

OK - enough of where I went with my digi - let's get onto the Challenge over at ONE STITCH AT A TIME.

Get your womeness out and create create create!   And remember...women can be depicted in many different ways.  Use your imagination -  I can think of 5 right off the bat and I bet you will think of a bazillion I haven't even considered!  Looking forward to it.  See you over at the OSAAT Challenge.

  1. Another wonderfully inspirational creation Samara and I love your write up :) Our school had nothing to do with Valentines and generally any of the boarders who got a card in the mail that day got it from their Mums. I think I would have hated the brown paper bags and cards being dropped in - far to traumatic for the unpopular kid so I am rather glad that in my youth Valentines came and went with little notice. You got to laugh, I gave my first valentine card last year - to my hubby, and it was the first one he had ever received lol. BIg hugs Jane xxxxxxx
