Rick does a spectacular job of sketching out his images; it was tough to pick colors.
But in the end, I was happy with what came about for me.
I added (for the METAL Challenge) an earring, some brads, clips, a pendant and chain.

When I heard "monochrome" I heard me say EEK!

Monochrome is NOT my bag. I am a color person.

The only monochrome in my life are my clothes - black, grey and (white) as an accent.

Then I thought "skin tones are monochrome" and I felt this great big honkin' YES run through me!

It wasn't going to be a dud of a DT design after all (in Spirit I mean!)

So here you have it.

I am in love with Skin Tones.

And as a way of trying Markers other than my all time favourite Sketch Copics that I have used for years,

I am collecting the skin tones in all the different Markers -

Copics, Prismas, Promarkers.

It is SO fun because I have a goal of not hoarding or coveting ALL the colors

like I have with the sketch.

but rather to enjoy the diversity.

 I LOVE coloring skin

though I don't think I am very good at it yet

but I will be!

Hmmm.

I wonder what it feels like to be Monochrome.

I am definitely the "name on the color wheel" that has the most points

"the most colorful"

"the most diverse"

or

"the most unpredictable"

"the most off the wall"

just depends who you are talking to and on which day...

I had SO MUCH fun creating this background paper from scratch, using the digital elements that I bought in the Kit.  There were a bazillion possibilities.  And this digi from Stamping Chef...she matched the kit perfectly, which is why I chose her, and she really told the story of the movie Underexposed.

I LOVE challenges for MOVIES!
Underexposed is a Womyn's Skateboarding documovie.
Well worth watching if you had or have a sk8tR in your family.

The digi is so perfect for this movie.
It is called FAIL TO BAIL and is by Stamping Chef.

 I so love this digital design of Ike's.  I find her so feminine and pensive.  From the moment I saw her, I knew the movie I wanted to depict.

City of Angels reminded me of this...

The combo of the digi and the background - the far off look yet the all embracing comfort of the surroundings.

I hope you enjoy her and what I created with the digital elements and papers I had in order to construct the background.

I am really happy to say I have joined a team that is not a stamping or digi team.  It is a Challenge that has as its goal to NOT use the above, but to motivate a person to delve into other creative tools, mediums, properties and to create from there.

I love this because I put my mixed media blog to bed a year ago and now it gets resurrected!

What a joyful way to begin summer.
