SENTIMENTAL SUNDAYS CHALLENGE

Challenge #87–Dry Embossing

The Die Cuts challenge last week was a huge success.  Sentimental Sundays had some gorgeous entries, not only by the Design Team but the entrants were outstanding.  Each time I comment on the cards I am amazed at how many techniques I learn, the number of stamps that people are able to work with, in different and unique ways and how people are now making their own embellishments, such as flowers and tags, rather than buying pre-made ones.

The people who did not have die cut machines managed still to enter the challenge using wonderful punches and putting them together in ways that were stunning.  Thank you to all of you for giving me the pleasure of seeing and learning from your work!.

For this week, DRY EMBOSSING is the challenge.  That means using IMPRESSIONS FOLDERS, or your scoring board or a stylus to make unique designs in your paper.  Sentimental Sunday's wants to see how you can design your paper without INK, without heating tools and without any powders or Versamark Type Sticking agents.

Be sure to go back to SENTIMENTAL SUNDAYS BLOG on Tuesday to see who the lucky winners of last weeks challenge are!

If you want to see Heather’s Etsy Shop, then click here, and check out all of her fabulous digi stamp characters.  They are just as adorable as this popular one above that most of us - Designers - used for our Inspiration cards over at SENTIMENTAL SUNDAYS CHALLENGE BLOG.

This weeks winner will receive 3 images from Digi Stamp Characters!

CHALLENGE RULES:
This weeks challenge is:  “Dry Embossing” (plus DON'T FORGET a sentiment)

here is my take on Heather's Digi Image

This flower was fun!  I took pink paper and punched the edge with a Martha punch and then scored with a SU scor pad 1/4" apart and then folded back and forth over and over.  At the end I glued the pieces together.  Then I pushed the middle onto the table and used a hot gun to hold the middle together.  I mounted it all onto a 1" punched circle of the same color and, of course, as you can see added the bling.

I used the same Martha punch and color to enhance the top of the card.  The ribbon was simply a twirl, glue, twirl, glue.  The corner is a Martha Emboss Corner.  The Beige is a SU impressions folder that I inked with Tim's Vintage Ink.

The FRIENDS sticker is from Bo Bunny's new line.  The embossed fleurs are a SU metal emboss/cut folder.  I love these - they work SO well.  The piece of lime green you see running  vertically is an emboss from my cuttlebug.  It is a border impressions folder from Cricut.

I trimmed my little Heather Ellis darling with the same paper as the fleur and top enhance.  I gave her pockets and a neck thingi (I don't know what they are called.)  And of course, I colored her with my beloved Copics.  The paper you see in the background is from the same new Bo Bunny set.

A better look at the paper (hmmm, why did my ink just go red - crazy puter's!) Maybe to match the bling, her hair pin and the mail post "you've got mail!"

I hope you enjoyed today's post.
