FLOWER POWER...

ROSES ARE RED...
There is a gorgeous card trend of fleurs coming back into style, and I am JUST starting to catch "the bug!"  I think it is because when I go out my front door, onto my porch, I see new perennials blooming each and everyday.  GOD you are amazing!

Today, I have created a "set" of cards; my rendition of what I feel and see when I close my eyes, lay on the trampoline in my backyard, and smell the fresh country air and the freedom of creation all around me.

Happy Creating Today!

CARD ONE:

Those baby flowers...Oh, I could just eat them up they are SO CUTE!

Tons of fun experimenting with ribbon, thread, twists, turns, glue, staples and glitter.

I have begun to make my own flowers and am LOVING it!
So much LESS expensive too and precise colors.

CARD TWO

Orange, red and Pink you say??? Well, if God can do it in the garden, then so can I on my card!

This was SO fun fussing around with the itsy white ribbon rose, the glitter and the liquid pearls.

Tying this ribbon from a scrap of "faux" ribbon (aka my red envelope that was all wrinkled by mistake so I cut off a tiny end of it) was SO cool.  I've never made a "ribbon" for a tag out of paper before.  Another design first! And curling it was scissors was SO COOL.  Just like at my cubs birthday parties when they were babies.

Such a plain die cut can be SO spruced up with a little glitter, a little bend and a little white gel pen!

CARD THREE:

This frame was my first Cricut Expressions Cut.  I've had my machine for years and this is the first time I've used it on a card.  How fun is that!

The paper piecing of this sweet cheeks was VERY challenging, given it is a paint-by-numbers type of thingi!  Not good for dyslexic peeps!  But the buttons...ewwwwwiiiii!  Were they fun.  Out came the fleurs again.  The background paper was cuttlebugged and sanded with my electric carpentry sander and glazed.

  1. Somebody's been having fun! These are wonderful Samara. I think the first one is my favorite cause I just adore scrunched ribbon. I like how you used the fussy cut flowers on all the cards too. Mixing all the paints and sparkles with the different types of flowers and buttons made some really interesting elements. Thanks for sharing your projects! :-)

  29. I came to visit because you commented on my triangle fold card.
More importantly that you came because you saw it somewhere, not because you were commenting as design team member.
Your blog is very interesting, I'll be back. I also think my hubby will like this one, he's very interested in the metapyhsical.
