SLS LINES DIGITAL STAMPS - CHALLENGE # 1

THIS IS A HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!
SECOND:  I AM LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE ONE OF THEIR DT
WAHOO ALL THE WAY!

For the first Challenge, the THEME IS LADIES!  Yeah for Ladies (let's hear it again)  Yeah for Ladies!  And our artiste, oh my gosh - you have to go over to slslines.etsy.com and check out all the digis, is so fantastic at creating "the ladies" it was not easy to chose...but here we are.

I chose ELF GIRL WITH STAFF and used Copics to color her up.  Then, using Close to my Heart paper, backgrounded her with an abundance of scraps.  I wanted her to feel strong, yet womanly, very "Ayla" like (Clan of the Cave Bears - in fact I named my own daughter after Ayla from the book) but yet humble, so I chose soft paper.

Because our LADY is both warrior and elf (of the land) I decided to add a Spiritual Verse to augment her beauty.

I hope you like her.  I loved playing around with Sls Art.  Thanks beautiful one!

Hugz,
Samara

    IKE'S WORLD CHALLENGE - CHALLENGE 1

YAY TO BE BACK OFF SUMMER VACATION!!!

    WELCOME TO IKE'S WORLD CHALLENGE
     WEEK TWO OF ANYTHING GOES

Not using Ike's Images to create is like not drinking water...near impossible!  So it is lovely that for our first Challenge Ike has given all her fans a chance to an ANYTHING GOES.  WOW - what a choice.  Have you seen Ike's new sketches?  Have you looked through her store lately or visited her blog?  If you haven't, you have been missing some quality (shit) art!  She's a master at creating a la versatility, au erotica, shockingly strange and out of the box.  How much better does it get.

So, having given that intro...you will be ready for Ike's ROAD KILL image rightly called BAD DAY!  I absolutely love this and have encouraged Ike to keep going, go crazy, have the chutzpa that this type of dark humour will appeal to an audience that is just far too used to driving around these poor little souls daily on their rides to and from their destinations.

Have you had a BAD DAY like our little feller?  Well, I'd say this little Hedgehog did!  But alas, he is alive to ask you the question, so fear not, he is talking even though he is wearing a few skid marks on his back - and even looksie - his birdie friends have come to his rescue - so he's not that bad off. His peeps are there to give him a hand back up, well, at least to rest on his head!

I encourage you to get on up yourself and grab Ike's Usual Generous Freebie from the challenge site here if that is what you choose, and give a go at our challenge.  We have a great Design Team, many of our previous members are still rocking on together and many new members, that have great new ideas and skills to inspire you and have already started to rock the Ike Clock!  Take a look and see what you can ream from them and either pick up a digi from Ike's store, use the freebie or a digi that you already have.

Go crazy!  It can't get much crazier than the one I chose! (Bad Day from Ike's Store)

I look forward to seeing your entries...the best part!  And Ike is always really generous with prizes...so fear not - you will be rewarded should you be chosen from the group of entries.

    See you over there!

    Spirited Hugz

    Challenges will be entered Tuesday

ONE STITCH AT A TIME - ANYTHING GOES WITH A DIE

    Theme:  A.G. WITH A DIE
    Digi: "cat"

Man, this was difficult for me!
    I'll admit it!
    I loved creating the backgrounds
    I loved creating the dies
I did not enjoy figuring out how to color the cat.

The cat was perfect just how the cat was
    black and white
    sketched.

SLS LINES DIGITAL STAMPS NEW CHALLENGE BLOG AND DT CALL

    HOW GREAT IS THIS!!!

I am so thrilled to be part of the entry list for the Design Call with some of the best artiste womyn that I know!  And to be part of an entry to a company, with Sal as the Owner, Originator and Boss Lady who is the Brilliant One who sketches out all these lovely designs for us to use.

I have used many of the images on my projects with other DT's and when I heard Sal was opening her own Blog I was blown away - how could you not resist!  There is an opportunity for any one of you to enter this great call.

Go on over to Sal's SLS Lines (the Link is also on both of the pics) and take a look at the requirements for the DT Call. If the art and the call speak to you - jump on in...come swim in the pool of chance with the rest of us!  It's an adventure, and adventure is "being alive in the moment!"  Let's all be alive together with this DT call!!!

I know you will love to work with the images as much as I do.  They are for anyone who wants to take their art up a notch, get really funky and racy with their art, or be sophisticated and classic.  That is the great thing about Sal's art - you can use it anyway you like when purchasing an image - which I highly recommend you do!!!  If the call doesn't speak to you then the wonderful thing about this post is that you are now introduced, though I think that would be unlikely this is your first looksi at Sal's work, to very cool uber images.  Who doesn't love new images to work with....come on, admit it, just don't tell the financier (if it isn't you!!! lol)

Do hop on over - read up Sal's post and be great today!  It's a New Day where you can make new Dreams.

    I encourage it!

    Squishy Hugz Always,

    Samara

I will enter this post to companies after the weekend with my art attached. xox

    LEFT OF CENTRE CHALLENGES

Another uber great challenge with LOC!
This week's Sponsor is THE STAMPING CHEF.
The Digital Image I have chosen is BARN BRAT.

Who doesn't love a sexy cowgirl?  OK, a sexy cowboy is better but a foxy cowgirl...pretty funky cool.  For this image, I used some Digital Elements for the background.  The image was so adorable that I could not resist making her a "bad girl" as you will see.

Hop on over to Left of Centre, show us what you've got for this challenge, and as always, Anything Goes if you don't want to follow the theme of the day, which is STITCHING (you can see my faux stitching on my label and at the bottom of the card.)

    See you soon!

PUNK YOU GIRL LOLITA - INSPIRED BY A SONG

Yoga is a wonderful form of Meditation and a practice I began many years ago and have resumed.  A wonderful studio is in my neighbourhood that offers many different types of Yoga.  I love how the practice has become so diverse.  So when I found out this Challenge with PUNK YOU GIRL LOLITA was to be based on a SONG I immediately went to my list of YOGA TUNES.

I remember the days of Bob Marley well, visiting Jamaica, seeing Bob and the Wailers and now taking up with his son Ziggy.  LOVE is still the message in the bottle for the Marley clan - something that sums up my own mantra so the song was perfect.

I hope you listen to it, watch the vid and enjoy the message.

I find it serene, heart warming but most of all a basic truth.  And Yogi Kai, by The East Wind seems to fit right in with the song.  This was a really great challenge to be asked to create.  Thanks Kay!

    LABELS:
DIGI:  Yogi Kai:  The East Wind
    DIGITAL KIT: Scrapbook Graphics
MARKERS:  PROMARKERS (not so happy with them so I reverted back to my copics but could not quite correct the boo boo's from the miscolor match of the promarkers)
